Wheel arches and mud guards. |
The rear wheel arches of Man are made of welded patterned aluminum sheet (chequer plate) which whilst hard wearing and attractive is very difficult to clean "as new". |
After trying several tar solvents the only really effective method I found was with a wire brush. |
After several hours work both rear wheel arches and the surrounding chequer plate were cleaned "as new". |
The front mud guards of Man are smooth plastic. The mud was first removed with a pressure washer... |
...then hot soapy water and a stiff brush and finally... |
...a tar removal spray and "blunt" scouring pad. |
The final result was "as new". |
